Lowenkron currently serves as the Program Director of Distance and Digital Learning for Adult Education at the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS). Ben's career in education spans over two decades and includes varied positions, including Program Director of Teaching and Learning Technology, Academic Student Support Coordinator, and Faculty Champion for the Center for Undergraduate Student Achievement (CUSA) at Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). He joined BRCC in 2010 as an Adjunct in the Department of English and Humanities before accepting a full-time position as Instructor and then Assistant Professor.
No matter the role, Ben's work has and remains focused on empowering learners by helping them to discover and hone their own voice, passing on the legacy of the many influential teachers who shaped his own life.
Born and raised in Virginia, he graduated from The College of William and Mary before moving to Louisiana, where he completed his graduate work at Louisiana State University. A published poet and the founder of the Delta Mouth Literary Festival, Ben still resides in Baton Rouge with his wife, Brooke, their two girls, and a wild but fun poodle puppy.
